Workshops and Retreats

There’s something special about drawing and painting alongside other creative people. An in-person workshop offers the chance to step away from everyday distractions, immerse yourself in the creative process, try new ideas and gain confidence in a supportive, encouraging environment. Many lasting friendships begin around a sketchbook.

My workshops are not about producing perfect pictures. They are about learning to see more closely, embracing curiosity and letting go of outcomes.

Many people arrive believing they’re ‘not good at drawing’ or feeling trapped by perfectionism. My aim is to replace judgement with observation, and to help people rediscover the enjoyment of making marks. Through playful exercises, unexpected materials and expressive techniques, you’ll be encouraged to trust the process rather than worry about a perfect result.

My own painting practice and my teaching are inseparable. The same curiosity, experimentation and close observation that underpin my paintings are at the heart of every workshop, retreat and online course. I don’t want you to draw like me. I want you to become a more confident observer, embrace experimentation, and discover your own unique visual language.

Because when we truly pay attention, we don’t just become better artists. We become more engaged with the world around us.

I always let my email subscribers know about new workshops and retreats first. Many fill very quickly, so this page may not always show full availability.

If you’d like to hear about upcoming workshops, retreats and online courses, join my email list. You’ll receive advance notice before places are released publicly, along with occasional studio news, sketchbook inspiration and creative tips.
